Description
Sweet Almond Oil with CBD (Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil) is a 100% organic, cold-pressed virgin oil known for its mild, nourishing, and versatile cosmetic properties. Almond oil comes in two varieties – bitter and sweet – with sweet almond oil being the safe and commonly used type in cosmetics. The bitter variety can form harmful substances during processing and is therefore not used cosmetically.
The name almond is believed to originate from the French almande and the Greek amygdala. Almonds originated in the Middle East and have since spread across the Mediterranean to Africa and Europe. Sweet almond oil has been used for centuries by both traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic practitioners, especially for skin care and the treatment of minor skin irritations.
The oil is liquid, light yellow, and rich in essential fatty acids, which help nourish the skin, improve elasticity, and maintain moisture balance. Sweet almond oil is hypoallergenic and suitable for all skin types, including dry, sensitive, and mature skin. Its non-comedogenic properties also make it suitable for skin prone to blemishes and acne.
Sweet almond oil can help reduce the appearance of scars and stretch marks with regular use. It is also often used for hair and scalp care, where it helps soften hair, reduce frizz, and protect against dryness and sun damage. The oil contains naturally occurring nutrients such as vitamin A (retinol), vitamin E, omega fatty acids, and linoleic acid, which support the skin's structure and appearance.
As a carrier oil, sweet almond oil is ideal for diluting essential oils before topical use. It is also suitable as a massage oil—including for sensitive skin and baby skin—due to its mild and skin-friendly composition.
